Hoperation Fund 2025 Annual Review

On January 11, 2026, Hoperation Fund held its annual annual review meeting. Below are the highlights.

Mission, Who We Are, and What We Do

Founded on May 18, 2023, Hoperation Fund is a nonprofit organization with a mission to fundraise and receive public donations, invest capital in the stock market, and donate investment profits to nonprofits supporting environmental protection, education in underserved regions, child and women’s welfare, and other causes. In parallel, we aim to fill educational gaps by providing personal finance and investing education for students and adults—topics often overlooked in traditional schooling.

Our work is organized around four pillars:

  • Fundraising (e.g., tutoring, gift sales, reading clubs)

  • Investing (portfolio management, market analysis, risk control recommendations)

  • Donating (we donate 80% of profits to selected nonprofit organizations)

  • Education (financial lectures, invited talks, workshops, study groups)

Members & Leadership Growth

In 2025, our community continued to expand: we reached 134 members across 22 U.S. states and 3 other countries, including 94 student members and 40 adult members.

Our student leadership team includes: President Olivia Zhang, VP of Media Design Emily Chen, and Chapter VPs Chloe Li (Dallas), Oliver Fan (Houston), and Hao Cheng (Asia-Pacific).

We also benefited from advisor guidance throughout the year—our advisors supported student leaders by evaluating KPIs, offering solutions to challenges, and helping us operate with high standards.

Fundraising Results (2025)

In 2025, we raised funds through two key initiatives:

  • Signal Processing & Machine Learning tutoring: $1,200

  • Leaf vein bookmark sales: $71.66 (revenue minus cost)

By the end of 2025, our investment portfolio value reached $27,465.71, including $1,271.66 raised through the two fundraising events and $700.00 received as public donations.

Investing Performance (2025)

Below is the 2025 performance highlights:

  • Annual return: 16.5%

  • Profit generated in 2025: $3,426.25

  • Planned donation amount (80% of profit): $2,741

  • Donation fund carried into 2026: $1,406.61 (after operating costs, such as website annual fee, on-site talks, and gifts for invited talks)

We also track our long-term performance against major market benchmarks, comparing our portfolio versus SPY (S&P 500) and QQQ (Nasdaq-100) over time. Since inception (June 2023), our return is 103.3%.

By the end of 2025, Hoperation Fund donated to the following organizations:

  • Wikipedia

Spotlight: Libuton Elementary School Initiative

We donated $900 to support construction of a new, high-quality concrete wall to improve campus protection and student safety. Our advisor Mr. Huntley personally delivered the donation during a business trip and helped oversee the project, ensuring responsible use of funds and documenting progress.

(We have additional donation candidates identified; due to limited time, parts of the donation process will continue in 2026. )

Education & Outreach (2025)

Education remained a major focus in 2025. Across the year, we delivered:

  • 15 financial & investment lectures (for children and adults)

  • 4 finance workshops

  • 1 invited talk

  • 6 online study groups

  • 3 members receiving fintech competition awards

  • 2 members submitting/publishing academic papers on AI for finance

Looking Ahead to 2026

In 2026, we plan to:

  • Expand fundraising programs and partnerships

  • Continue improving our investing process and risk control discipline

  • Complete postponed donation workflows and broaden our charitable reach

  • Scale finance education through more talks, workshops, and student-led study groups
