Olivia Zhang
Founder & President

Olivia is a student at the Hockaday School. As President, Olivia provides strategic leadership by setting objectives and ensuring the Fund’s activities align with its missions. She manages the investment portfolio, organizes fundraising events, gives finance and investment lectures, and evaluates nonprofits for receiving our donations.

Committed to community service, she also founded The Lumos AI Club, a community of passionate young AI enthusiasts.

Chloe Li

VP of Dallas Chapter
(2024 - Current)

Chloe is a student at Trinity Christian Academy. She serves as the Vice President of the Dallas Chapter, overseeing the Hoperation Fund’s operations in the Dallas area, including member recruitment and the co-organization of fundraising, educational, and charitable events alongside the President and other Vice Presidents. Chloe enjoys tennis, basketball, math, and coding, and has received awards in these areas. Passionate about investing, she hopes to use her knowledge and skills to help those in need.

Emily Chen

VP of Media Design
(2025 - Current)

Emily is a sophomore at The Hockaday School. She serves as the Vice President of Media Design for the Hoperation Fund, overseeing the creation and editing of images, videos, flyers, posters, and other promotional materials for the organization’s activities and outreach. Passionate about business and investing, Emily is actively involved in her school’s DECA and Investment Clubs, as well as the Youth Entrepreneur Society outside of school. She has studied piano for eight years and is also a member of the debate team and varsity track team.

Hanke Chen

VP of Social Media
(2026)

Hanke is a junior at Plano West Senior High School and serves as the Vice President of Social Media for the Hoperation Fund. He is responsible for shaping and managing the organization’s online presence across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and WeChat. His role includes developing creative media strategies, promoting events and fundraising initiatives, and engaging students and community members through impactful digital content. Passionate about STEM and finance, Hanke is an active member of the Business Professionals of America and Coding Club at school. Outside of academics, he enjoys playing the piano, soccer, and reading.

Isabella Wei

VP of Plano Chapter
(2026)

Isabella is a freshman at BASIS Charter School and serves as the Vice President of the Plano Chapter for the Hoperation Fund. She oversees the Hoperation Fund’s operations in the Plano area, including member recruitment and the co-organization of fundraising, educational, and charitable events alongside the President and other Vice Presidents. At school, Isabella is a member of HOSA and actively explores her interests through various clubs and activities. Outside of school, she is a passionate dancer and artist with eight years of experience. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching new shows, spending time with her dog, and trying new foods.

Hao Cheng

VP of Website Content
(2025 - Current)

Hao is a student at Nanshan Foreign Language School in China. She oversees the content, news articles, and announcements published on the Hoperation Fund website. She is an active Model United Nations participant, and has earned multiple awards at Yale Model UN and national competitions. Outside academics, Hao enjoys volleyball, piano, and exploring broadcasting and hosting.

VP of Houston Chapter
(2025 - Current)

Oliver, a sophomore at James E. Taylor High School, serves as the VP of Houston Chapter for Hoperation Fund. He leads initiatives to promote the organization’s mission, coordinate events, manage projects, and enhance organizational operations. He is passionate about STEM, programming, and space exploration, and is an active member of the Math Club, Science National Honor Society, and Coding Club at school. Beyond his academic pursuits, Oliver enjoys playing the violin and piano, as well as exploring astronomy and machine learning.

Aarav Dalia

Market Briefing Lead
(2026)

Aarav Dalia serves as a Market Briefing Lead for the Hoperation Fund, where he is responsible for reporting finance news during the fund’s monthly meetings. Born in Tampa, Florida, Aarav has grown up in Joplin, Missouri. He enjoys playing tennis, building LEGO sets, and playing the piano. In his free time, he likes being outdoors, exploring, and spending time in nature. His favorite subjects in school are math and science, and he has recently developed a strong interest in videography.

Sebastian Penley

Market Briefing Lead
(2026)

Sebastian Penley serves as a Market Briefing Lead for the Hoperation Fund, reporting finance news during monthly meetings. A free-spirited homeschool student from Bloomington, Indiana, Sebastian enjoys math, science, computer science, writing, finance, and music. He has a tender heart for animals, both living and stuffed. In his free time, he enjoys rock climbing, jiu-jitsu, chess puzzles, and composing music. Inspired by his father’s career in financial markets, he became interested in stocks at a young age. His earliest picks were inspired by animals, but he now follows a more strategic approach.

Vihaan Singh

Market Briefing Lead
(2026)

Vihaan serves as a Market Briefing Lead for the Hoperation Fund, reporting finance news during monthly meetings. A student at Ridgewood Elementary in Washington State, he is deeply engaged in advanced competition-style mathematics and enjoys creating PowerPoint presentations on a variety of topics. Vihaan thrives in spirited, high-quality debate and loves encouraging thoughtful discussions. Outside the fund, he enjoys running, playing violin, chess, architecture, LEGO builds, and astronomy. On race weekends, he is also a dedicated Formula 1 fan cheering for Oscar Piastri.

Mr. Penley is a University of Illinois graduate with degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science, as well as a CFA charter holder. He has over 20 years of experience in the algorithmic trading industry at multiple firms in Chicago.

Douglas Huntley

Mr. Huntley is a graduate of Indiana University and of Purdue University with degrees in both science and business.  He has 30 years experience in owning and managing midwestern commercial and residential real estate.  His nearing retirement focus these days is primarily with active investing and philanthropy in the Republic of the Philippines including introducing potable water via shallow wells and rainwater collection & treatment and electrification in rural areas.

Dr. Wan is a visionary data science leader with a Ph.D. and 15+ years of expertise in machine learning, big data, and analytics—driving impactful insights at Verizon through advanced modeling, Bayesian learning, and cutting-edge search technologies.

Zhilin Zhang

Dr. Zhang earned his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and Signal Processing from UC San Diego. Leveraging his expertise, he has developed AI-based stock investment strategies and founded a hedge fund firm, serving individuals and investment institutions across the globe.

Alice Cai

Student Advisor (2024)

Alice Cai, a student at Plano West Senior High School, is passionate about business and design. She serves as the President of HR and Admin for Citizens of Tomorrow and as YES Historian Records Manager. Committed to community service, she founded and previously led the National Art Honor Society at Jasper and volunteers with various organizations. Her artwork has earned regional recognition, and she has consistently received the President’s Volunteer Service Award and the USCCC Outstanding Service Award for her impact on the community.

Aurora Cai

VP of Outreach (2024)

A student at Rice Middle School, Aurora managed designs for the Outreach department and helped plan team-bonding activities, events, and advertisements. Outside the Hoperation Fund, she enjoys dancing, robotics, and spending time with her family. She hopes to make a positive impact in her community through her dedication and organizational skills.

Max Lin

VP of Charity (2024)

Max Lin, a student at St. Mark's School of Texas, is passionate about arts, music, and making a positive impact. As the VP of Charity in 2024, he helped Hoperation Fund research and select nonprofits for donations.
